Curtains in linen, cotton and textured weaves, in warm neutral tones that filter light rather than block it. Hang the pole 15cm to 20cm above the window and extend it 20cm past each side, so the curtains stack against the wall rather than the glass and the window reads taller and wider than it is. Length is the other decision: skimming the floor looks tailored, breaking slightly looks softer, and hovering above it never looks right. Measure from the pole rather than the frame.
