Three light sources per room is the rule our stylists work to: a table lamp, something low, and an overhead you rarely switch on. A single ceiling fitting is what makes a living room feel like an office after dark. Work in pairs on a console or either side of a bed, check your surface depth against the shade width, and fit warm bulbs at 2400K to 2700K, since cooler light drains the warmth from natural materials.
