Charlested Home
Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before placing an order with us.
The Contract Between Us
We must receive payment in full before your order can be accepted and shipped. Once payment has been received, we will confirm acceptance by email to the address you provided at checkout. Our acceptance of your order creates a legally binding contract between us.
Intellectual Property
All rights, including copyright and imagery on this website, are owned by or licensed to CharlesTed Home Ltd. Any use of this website or its contents — other than for your own personal, non-commercial use — is prohibited without our permission. You may not modify, distribute, or repost anything on this website for any purpose.
Some images belong to our customers and are included with their permission. To request use of any imagery, please contact us.
Product Information & Descriptions
We take care to ensure that prices and descriptions are correct at the time of publishing. Weights, dimensions, and specifications are approximate only and used for shipping calculations. We cannot be responsible for errors or omissions in product information on the website.
Ordering & Availability
Our shop is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Browse, add items to your bag, and complete checkout. All fields marked * must be completed to place an order.
Pre-Orders
Goods ordered on pre-order will be allocated to you as soon as they arrive in stock. Delivery dates are approximate and largely governed by supplier timescales. We aim to dispatch pre-order items within 2–3 days of arrival in our warehouse. You may cancel a pre-order at any time before dispatch — this does not affect your statutory rights.
4a — Promotional & Discount Codes
Only one promotional or discount code may be used per order. Codes are not valid during Sale periods or on Sale Room items.
All promotional codes remain the property of CharlesTed Home Ltd. We reserve the right to withdraw or modify any promotion at any time without prior notice.
Acknowledgement of Your Order
We will email you to confirm receipt of your order, and again to confirm dispatch. Formal acceptance of your order takes place at the point of dispatch of the goods.
Correcting Errors
If you notice a mistake after placing your order, please contact us as soon as possible. Changes can be made before your order is sent to our warehouse for picking. Once sent for packing, changes cannot be made.
Product Pricing & Descriptions
All prices are in £ sterling and are inclusive of VAT at the current rate. Delivery costs are excluded and calculated at checkout based on weight, fragility, and size.
Product descriptions are provided to give an indication of goods only and do not form part of the contract between us. We aim to keep all pricing and descriptions accurate but cannot guarantee precision at the exact moment of every order.
Payment Terms
Payments are processed via PayPal or Stripe UK. All card information is encrypted using the latest secure technology and passed directly to Stripe UK for authorisation. No credit card data is stored on our servers at any time.
We accept no liability for delays caused by incorrect payment details being provided. If full payment cannot be obtained, we reserve the right to cancel the contract and suspend further deliveries.
Delivery Charges & Terms
Delivery charges vary by product type, size, fragility, and weight. Full details are available in the Delivery section of our website.
9.1 — Delivery Address
We deliver to the address specified in your order. Please ensure your address and postcode are correct at the time of ordering. We cannot accept liability for loss or damage after delivery in accordance with your instructions (unless caused by our negligence). Delivery dates are not guaranteed and may be extended where delays are beyond our reasonable control.
9.2 — Ownership on Delivery
You become the owner of the goods at the point of delivery. From that moment, goods are held at your own risk and we will not be liable for their loss or destruction.
9.3 — Furniture & Access
Before ordering furniture, please measure carefully — ensure your item will fit through all passages, access gates, stairwells, landings, and internal doors. We cannot be held accountable for items that do not fit. If a delivery fails due to access and the item must be returned, return costs equivalent to the original delivery charge will apply. Same-day redelivery is not possible as drivers operate on pre-booked routes.
9.4 — Clear Delivery Route
Please ensure the delivery route is clear and free from obstructions before your delivery date. Any changes must be raised with our logistics provider in advance.
Risk of Loss or Damage
Risk of damage to or loss of goods passes to you at the time of delivery — or, if you fail to take delivery at the agreed time, from the point at which we attempted delivery. You will only own the goods once successfully delivered and full cleared payment has been received. Goods supplied are not for resale.
Your Right to Cancel & Return
Full details of our returns process are set out in the Returns section of our website. A summary of your key rights is below.
11.1 — Distance Selling
As a UK/EU consumer, you have the legal right under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods. Items must be notified for return within 14 days and returned to us within 30 days of receipt.
11.2 — Damaged or Incorrectly Supplied Goods
Check all products against your order on delivery. If items are damaged or incorrectly supplied, note the details on the delivery documentation and contact us within 14 days of delivery. Items must then be returned within 14 days of notifying us.
All returned items — including faulty ones — must be undamaged, unused, and in their original packaging (both the product box and the outer shipping box, with all protective materials intact). Refunds or exchanges will be processed within 5–7 working days of receipt.
11.3 — Unwanted Items
To cancel an unwanted (non-faulty) item, notify us within 14 days of receipt. Items must be returned at your cost, securely packaged, within 30 days of receipt. Items must not be used and must be in original packaging. We will be unable to process returns of unwanted items that arrive damaged.
11.4 — Bespoke & Made-to-Order Items
Bespoke and made-to-order items are non-refundable. They may be exchanged for alternative products or store credit. A bespoke order cannot be cancelled once placed.
When We May Cancel Your Order
We reserve the right to cancel the contract between us if:
- We have insufficient stock to fulfil your order.
- One or more items were listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical or supplier pricing error.
If we cancel your order, we will notify you by email and re-credit any amount charged to your account within 30 days of your order date.
Ex-Display Furniture — Terms & Conditions
What Are Ex-Display Items?
Ex-display items are products previously used for showroom display, photography, exhibitions, or demonstrations. They are not sold as brand-new goods.
Condition of Ex-Display Items
All ex-display furniture is sold as seen and as described at the point of sale. While every effort is made to present items in the best possible condition, ex-display furniture may show light marks, minor cosmetic imperfections, or wear consistent with display use.
Packaging
Ex-display items may arrive unboxed or not in their original packaging. Protective packaging will be used where reasonably possible to ensure safe delivery, but original manufacturer packaging cannot be guaranteed.
Returns & Refunds
By purchasing an ex-display item, you acknowledge and accept that:
- The item is sold at a reduced price to reflect its ex-display status.
- You waive your right to cancel, return, or request a refund for reasons relating to appearance, condition, packaging, or minor cosmetic wear.
This does not affect your statutory rights in relation to goods that are not as described, unfit for purpose, or faulty beyond what was clearly disclosed prior to purchase.
Inspection & Acceptance
Where possible, customers are encouraged to inspect ex-display items before purchase. For online purchases, detailed descriptions and images are provided to accurately represent the item's condition.
Completion of purchase constitutes acceptance of the item's condition.
Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. These terms apply specifically to the disclosed and accepted condition of ex-display goods. Your statutory rights are not affected.
