The "I'll Ship Separately" Message
Some scammers mark items as shipped without actually sending anything, hoping buyers will confirm receipt before realising the package hasn't arrived. Always wait until you physically have the item before confirming delivery in the app. Once you confirm, the payment is released and the dispute window closes.
Fake Shipping Notifications
A fraudulent seller sends you a tracking number that looks legitimate but belongs to an unrelated package or doesn't exist. If tracking seems odd — wrong destination, no movement, or suspiciously generic updates — raise it with Vinted before confirming receipt.
The Too-Good-To-Be-True Listing
A designer item listed at a fraction of its value, often with new-looking photos that appear professionally shot. Check the seller's feedback score, how long they've been on the platform, and whether they have other active listings. A brand-new account selling a single luxury item at an unusually low price is a red flag.
Phishing Messages
Messages asking you to click an external link — sometimes disguised as a delivery notification, Vinted verification request, or payment confirmation. Vinted communications come through the app and from official email addresses only. Never click external links sent via Vinted messages.
