A calm, uncluttered welcome home

Softly limed elm, with a grain full of warmth and movement, finished with aged ring pulls. Keys and post disappear into three drawers, baskets sit on the shelf below, and the top stays clear for a lamp and a vase of stems. A slim console table that gives even a narrow hallway real presence.

Will it fit? At 38cm deep it is slimmer than a typical console, so a 100cm hallway still has over 60cm clear to walk through. Allow at least 150cm of wall. It arrives in one assembled piece, so check doorways and turns before ordering.

The 90cm height puts the top at a comfortable standing level and leaves plenty of wall above for a mirror.

Materials and finish

Elm has a looser, more expressive grain than oak and a warmer tone. Here it is finished with a softly limed look.

Three drawers with aged ring pulls hold the small clutter, and a full-length lower shelf takes baskets, books or shoes, adding storage without adding depth.

It arrives fully assembled, with the joinery built properly rather than bolted together at home.

Care and honest expectations

Dust along the grain with a soft dry cloth and wipe spills promptly. Use coasters and mats, avoid silicone polishes and all-purpose sprays, and keep it away from radiators.

Elm is a natural material, so grain and tone vary from piece to piece and deepen gently with age.

Styling and pairs well with

In a hallway, hang a large mirror above and add a table lamp and a tray for keys, with woven baskets on the shelf. It also works behind a sofa, as a dining room serving surface where a sideboard will not fit, or as a slim dressing table.

It matches the Abingdon elm sideboard, if you want the look to continue into another room.

Questions
Will it fit a narrow hallway?
Yes, that is what it is designed for. At 38cm deep it sits close to the wall and leaves room to pass.
Does it need assembly?
No. It arrives fully assembled, ready to unwrap and position.
Can it go behind a sofa?
Yes, the slim depth sits neatly behind a sofa. Check that the sofa back is below 90cm.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Elm grain varies naturally, so yours will have its own pattern and tone. You can ask us for photos of current stock.
