Choosing the right chest of drawers

Start with the wall. For most bedrooms, a chest between 80 and 120cm wide and 85 to 95cm tall sits comfortably beneath a mirror, while a depth of 40 to 50cm keeps it clear of walkways. Allow around 50cm in front so the drawers open fully without catching the bed or a door. For a narrow wall or a smaller room, a taller chest or tallboy makes the most of the space, while a wider, lower design gives a generous surface for styling.
