A reclaimed pine dining table on a trestle base, with no central legs to sit around.
100% reclaimed pine, hand-distressed, seating six to eight with unrestricted legroom along both sides.
Every knot, grain variation and weathered mark is preserved rather than sanded and sealed away. Built for daily family life and generous entertaining. Browse all dining tables.
A table that gets better with age rather than showing its age.

The measurements, and the room you need
59.5kg, seating six to eight. The height suits chairs with a seat height of around 45cm to 50cm.
Allow a room of roughly 370cm by 220cm as a working minimum.
Clearance. At least 60cm on all four sides for chair movement, and ideally 90cm on the sides people walk behind.
How many will fit. Allow 60cm of table edge per person. Three along each side plus one at each end gives you eight. Benches take the same run and let you squeeze in an extra at a push.
Measure the route as well as the room. This is a serious piece to get through a house. Check doorways, hallway width, stairwells and tight turns before ordering, and tell us if anything looks close.
The detail that makes it different
A trestle base is a structural decision, not a styling one.
Without central legs across a span this long, nobody sits with a leg between their knees. Guests move freely along both sides and at either end, chairs slide fully underneath, and a bench fits along either side without obstruction. On a four-leg table of the same length, two people always draw the short straw.
100% reclaimed pine, not new timber distressed to imitate age. Pine is a softwood with an open, expressive grain, which is precisely why it takes patination so well. Decades of previous use leave warm amber and honey tones, a depth of colour and a knot structure no kiln process replicates.
The hand-distressed finish is applied piece by piece rather than machined, which is why the wear never repeats itself the way manufactured distressing does. Knots and grain are left where they fell rather than filled or sanded away, so no two tables are identical.
The base is built from the same reclaimed pine as the top, so it ages alongside the surface rather than diverging from it. And the warm tones coordinate naturally with linen, rattan and velvet dining chairs alike, rather than demanding a specific match.
Why you will love it
- Trestle base with no central legs, so nobody draws the short straw on legroom
- 100% genuinely reclaimed pine, not new timber distressed to imitate age
- Seats six to eight comfortably, and more at a squeeze with benches
- Hand-distressed finish that celebrates knots and grain rather than hiding them
- Benches fit along either side without a leg getting in the way
- Warm amber tones that pair with linen, rattan, velvet and painted seating
- Marks blend into the character rather than standing out against it
- Entirely unique, with grain and knots found on no other table
How our stylists would use it
A trestle base gives you options most tables do not. A bench along one side and chairs along the other reads as considered rather than matched, and it makes a long table feel less formal. Carvers at the ends give the arrangement its full stops.
Warm amber pine wants warm neutrals. Soft white, oatmeal, clay, mushroom and putty let the timber lead. For depth, olive, sage and soft charcoal on the walls make the amber glow. Avoid cool greys and stark white, which drain the warmth and push reclaimed pine towards orange.
Hang a pendant so the base sits 75cm to 85cm above the tabletop. On a table this long, two smaller pendants spaced evenly usually beat one large one. Warm bulbs at 2400K to 2700K are essential, since cool light flattens distressed timber completely.
A runner rather than a full cloth, so the timber stays visible, with washed linen napkins, a run of small ceramics and a shallow bowl of foliage. Keep it low so people can see across. The table is the styling here.
A jute or wool rug warms a hard floor and softens the sound of chairs. Size it so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out, which usually means 60cm beyond the table on every side.
At a glance
Care and honest expectations
Dust along the grain weekly with a soft dry cloth, and wipe spills straight away before they sit on the surface.
Use mats and coasters under anything hot or wet, and avoid silicone polishes and all-purpose sprays.
Keep it clear of a radiator where you can, since prolonged dry heat is harder on solid timber than anything else in a normal home, and out of prolonged direct sun, which lightens the surface unevenly if one half sits in it all day.
What to expect. Knots, grain variation and tonal shifts across the planks are by design. Your table will differ visibly from the photographs. New marks from daily family life are part of it, and the colour deepens gently with light and age.
If you want every plank the same colour and a table identical to the image on screen, reclaimed timber is the wrong choice. If you want character that cannot be manufactured, it is the only one.
