What fits? The wide mouth takes a full florist bunch as it comes. Aim for stems of around 50cm above the rim. At 20cm across, check the depth of a narrow console or shelf before ordering.

100% glass, thick-walled and heavy, so it stays steady when full of water and stems.

Dark ribbed finish that shifts with the light and conceals stem ends, the waterline and cloudy water.

Watertight and suitable for fresh flowers, as well as dried and faux stems. Faint seams or tiny bubbles are natural in made glass.

Hand wash only, with warm soapy water and a bottle brush. For residue inside, swirl warm water with a spoonful of dry rice. Lift it by the body rather than the rim, especially when full.

With fresh flowers, change the water every two days and re-cut the stems. Empty it before a hard frost if it stands in a cold porch or conservatory.

Fill it generously or leave it bare. On a console, use it as the tall element beside a low bowl and a candle, near a lamp or window so the ribbing catches the light.

Set it against a pale surface for contrast. For year-round colour, add a few structural faux stems such as eucalyptus or grasses.
