Will it fit? The 13cm foot takes up little surface, but the 36cm shade is the figure to check, so allow at least 36cm of depth. At 57.5cm it anchors a sideboard, console or generous bedside, and may dominate a compact nightstand.

The ceramic base swells from a narrow foot and draws in at the neck, with vertical ribs running its full height. The soft cream glaze pools gently between the ribs for subtle tonal depth and a faint pearlescent shimmer.

The natural linen drum shade, in an oat flecked weave, diffuses light into a warm ambient glow. Glaze pooling and ribbing character vary from piece to piece, and the shade weave varies slightly across batches.

Dust the ribbing with a soft, dry brush, and use a barely damp cloth on marks, drying straight after. Never use water or spray on the linen shade; a soft brush or lint roller is all it needs.

Rated IP20 for dry interior rooms only, not bathrooms. Always switch off, unplug and let the bulb cool before cleaning or changing it. Maximum 40W; a warm white LED around 2700K suits it best.

Use a pair at either end of a piece from our consoles and sideboards collection, with a darker glazed vessel from our pots and vases collection and a woven piece from our storage and baskets collection for contrast and texture.

Is it too tall for a bedside?

On a generous nightstand it looks striking; on a compact one it may dominate. Aim for the bottom of the shade near shoulder height when sitting up.

Not exactly. Glaze pooling and ribbing character vary from piece to piece. If buying a pair, order them together.
