Will it fit? Allow around 90cm of clear space on every side for chairs to pull out, and plan for the full 280cm if you will extend it often. The trestle sits inboard of the ends, so the corner seats are completely clear of legs. At 100kg, please check your access route and allow several people to position it.

A panelled solid mindi top with a flat moulded edge, in a soft limed finish that lets the grain show without orange tones. It sits on two turned baluster columns joined by a low stretcher bar.

The butterfly extension runs on metal slides, with both leaves folding away inside the table itself. As a natural hardwood, expect gentle variation in grain and tone.

Wipe spills promptly with a slightly damp cloth and dry straight away, as standing moisture can mark the finish. Use placemats and coasters under hot dishes and wet glasses. A light wax once or twice a year keeps the top even. Avoid silicone polishes and abrasive cleaners.

How does the extension work?

The two halves of the top pull apart on metal slides, and the leaves fold up into place from inside the table. One leaf takes it to 230cm, both to 280cm.

Will my chairs tuck under?

There is 72.5cm of clearance beneath the top on the long sides and 63cm at the ends, enough for standard dining chairs to tuck under.

What is mindi wood?

A dense, strong hardwood from South East Asia, lighter in tone than most oak, which is why it takes a limed finish so beautifully.

Do the table legs get in the way?

No. The trestle base sits inboard of the ends, so every seat, including the corners, is clear of legs.
