Will it fit? At 60cm wide it suits a standard basin or a narrow hallway wall without crowding it.

Frame: MDF with a weathered stone-effect finish, gently varied rather than uniform, so it has texture up close. It is engineered board with an applied decorative finish, not carved stone or solid timber, which keeps the weight to 7.2kg.

Glass: standard mirror glass set within the frame.

Colour: a neutral tone that reads as soft texture on a pale wall and as a pale outline on olive or charcoal. The weathered finish varies slightly from piece to piece.

Fixing: at 7.2kg it needs a proper fixing, not a picture pin. A wall plug and screw into masonry, or a rated anchor or a stud on plasterboard. Check the fixings once a year.

Height: on its own, centre it at around 155 to 160cm from the floor. Above a console, the bottom edge sits 20 to 25cm above the surface.

Cleaning: spray glass cleaner onto a cloth, never onto the mirror, so nothing runs into the frame. Dust the frame with a dry soft cloth and avoid sprays and abrasives.

Honestly: MDF does not enjoy persistent steam. It suits a well-ventilated bathroom, but in a small room with no extractor and daily hot showers we would think twice. Interior use only, and out of prolonged direct sunlight.

Hang it above a console table, centred on the furniture, with wall lights either side or a table lamp below. Place it where it reflects a window or a lamp. It sits well in Scandinavian, minimalist, rustic and coastal schemes.
