Will it fit? At 76cm across this is a generous statement size, best on a wide front door, a chimney breast or a large interior wall. Hold a circle of string against the door first to check it sits comfortably around a knocker, letterbox or glass panel.

Fine, flat, feathery faux cedar sprays that drape softly rather than bristling like a stiff fir, gathered densely so no ring shows through. Lifelike pinecones break up the green with warm brown and add depth up close.

It arrives compressed, so spend a few minutes pulling the sprigs outward and forward before hanging.

Suitable indoors or in a covered spot such as a porch, canopy or recessed doorway. On a fully exposed door facing driving rain and strong sun, any faux foliage will weather and fade faster. Dust with a soft brush or a hairdryer on its cool setting.

Keep candles and open flames well clear of the foliage. Store flat in a box, somewhere dry, with nothing heavy on top.

Hang it in the upper third of a front door, above a fireplace with candles kept well clear beneath, or over a hallway console table. Laid flat, it also makes a lovely table centrepiece around a hurricane lantern.

For Christmas, add a velvet bow in burgundy or rust and a cluster of brass bells, or tuck in red berry stems. Left natural, cedar and cones read as woodland, so it looks right from autumn right through January.

Yes, in a covered position such as a porch or recessed doorway. A sheltered spot keeps it looking its best for longer.

How do I hang it?

An over door hook is simplest and does no damage. Indoors, a single picture hook is enough given its light weight.

Will it drop needles?

No. There is no needle drop, no browning and no watering.
