Roughly the footprint of a large hardback laid flat, and only 4cm tall, so it never interrupts the view across a room.

Solid wood, hand finished, with the grain left visible and contrasting ball pieces.

The recessed grid holds the pieces in place without raised walls, and side compartments built into the board keep them tidy between games, so there's no bag or box to lose.

Cleaning. Dust with a soft dry cloth. Never soak it, and avoid cleaning sprays. Keep it out of prolonged direct sun.

Small parts. The pieces are small wooden balls and aren't suitable for children under three. Supervise younger children, and keep the pieces in their compartments between games, especially with a curious dog about.

What to expect. Grain and tone vary slightly from board to board.

Set it slightly off centre on a coffee table, on a short stack of books or inside a tray, alongside a low bowl and a candle.

It's a lovely gift for someone who has everything, and a welcome touch in a holiday let.
