Tall enough to make a statement beside a sideboard or in an alcove, yet compact enough for most rooms. Remember to add the height of the planter you choose.

The olives are small and dark, nestled among the leaves at different stages of ripeness. They're the detail that makes this read as a true olive tree rather than a tree with olive-coloured leaves.

The branching is irregular and slightly gnarled, with the natural spread of a mature olive rather than a manufactured symmetry.

No water, no feeding and no special light. It's as happy in a north-facing hallway as in a sunny room. Dust the leaves occasionally with a soft brush or a hairdryer on its cool setting, and gently reshape the branches when it arrives.

For indoor use only. Keep it away from prolonged direct sun so the foliage colour stays true.

The silver-green sits naturally with terracotta, stoneware and rattan. Set it in a ceramic pot from our pots and vases collection, or in a woven basket from baskets and storage, and finish the top with moss.

It's at home in Mediterranean, farmhouse, coastal and pared-back modern rooms alike.

Is a pot included?

No. Choose a ceramic pot or woven basket to suit your room.

Will it work in a room with little natural light?

Yes. Unlike a real olive, it looks just as good in a north-facing hallway or a bedroom corner.

Does it need any care?

Only an occasional dust. There's no watering, feeding or pruning.

Can it go outside?

It's designed for indoor use and isn't weatherproof.
