Will it suit my table? The 50cm seat is at the taller end of the dining range, so it suits a table of around 78cm to 80cm. Check for a deep apron under the tabletop, and allow 60cm of table edge per chair.

Velvet upholstery in charcoal grey over a curved backrest and padded seat, made for long, comfortable meals.

Antique brass studs trace the edge of the back and seat in the club-chair tradition. Against charcoal, they stand out as a crisp, defined line. Solid oak legs keep the look light and warm.

Velvet. Vacuum regularly with an upholstery attachment. Blot spills straight away, never rub, and brush the pile in one direction to lift pressure marks, which show more on darker velvet.

Oak legs. Dust with a dry cloth, with nothing wet or abrasive.

What to expect. Velvet shades as the pile moves, especially in charcoal, and that depth of colour is part of its beauty. Keep it out of strong sun and away from radiators.

Charcoal looks striking against a pale timber dining table and a light rug. Mix four with a bench, or combine colourways for an eclectic table.

Warm light from a pendant catches the brass studs beautifully. Also available in burnt sienna and forest green.

Does charcoal show marks?

Less than a pale fabric, though pressure marks in the pile can show. A soft brush lifts them out.

Are the legs solid wood?

Yes, solid oak.

What colours does it come in?

Charcoal grey, burnt sienna and forest green, all with the same brass studs and oak legs.
