Stoneware finished in a chalk-coloured reactive glaze that moves and pools in the kiln, deepening along the rim and around the handle. No two boards are the same, and slight irregularity in outline and surface is part of the handmade character, not a fault.

A subtle dish to the surface keeps oils and juices off the tablecloth. Ceramic stays cool, so soft cheese, butter and cured meats keep well on the table.

Hand wash with warm water, a little washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive scourers and dry before storing or hanging.

It is for serving, not chopping, as a knife will mark the glaze. It is not ovenware, as sudden heat can crack glazed stoneware, though it takes warm food at the table well.

It shares its glaze and handle with the rectangular Amberley, so the two look intentional together. Pair with pieces from our crockery for a table that looks gathered over time. Between meals, prop it on a shelf, against a splashback, or hang it from the handle on a peg rail.

What size is it?

45.2cm by 44.8cm including the handle, and 1.2cm deep. Enough for a full cheese board or a sharing spread for six to eight.

Can I cut on it?

It is designed for serving. Slice on a wooden board and transfer across. Cheese knives used lightly are fine.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Hand washing is best and keeps the glaze looking its best for longer.

Can I hang it up?

Yes, the cut-out handle sits over a hook or peg rail. It has real weight, so use a fixing rated for the load rather than an adhesive hook.
