Will it fit? Allow roughly a clear metre square so it can be sat in and walked past, and in a corner angle it at around 45 degrees for a more welcoming feel. The 55cm seat is higher than most armchairs, making it easy to rise from. This is an accent chair rather than a dining chair, as the arms won't tuck under a standard table.

Natural rattan, handwoven in Indonesia over a frame. The weave continues past the seat to the floor, hiding the frame entirely, and every curve of the scalloped hem is worked by hand. The arched back is woven in one continuous sweep, rising at the centre and flowing into the arms.

A loose, foam filled seat cushion in a hardwearing pale polyester sits on top and lifts out for cleaning. As each chair is handwoven, weave density and tone vary slightly; if ordering two, order them together so they come from the same batch.

Dust regularly with a soft dry brush or a vacuum brush attachment on a gentle setting, working into the weave, especially around the hem. Wipe marks with a barely damp cloth and dry straight away; never soak rattan. Spot clean the cushion and check its care label before anything more.

The odd loose strand may appear early on; trim with scissors rather than pulling. Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight and radiators. For indoor use only: a conservatory or covered porch is fine, but rain and frost will damage the weave.

Lovely in a bedroom corner with a throw over the arm, in a conservatory or garden room, angled beside a fireplace, on a wide landing or in a dressing room. Warm neutrals flatter the pale weave, while a deep olive, sage or charcoal wall shows off the scalloped silhouette beautifully.

Is it comfortable?

Yes. The arched back wraps around you, the 70cm depth is generous, and the foam cushion makes it a chair for sitting in properly.

Can I use it as a dining chair?

We wouldn't recommend it. The 68cm arms won't tuck under a standard dining table and the seat sits higher than a dining chair should.
