The natural oak Salisbury is the more quietly confident of the two colourways — where the blackened version makes a bold contrast statement, this one brings the fluted pedestal's sculptural quality in a warm, sandy greige tone that works with an almost unlimited range of interiors. The pale oak finish sits in the territory between natural timber and a whitewash — warm rather than cool, present rather than stark — and in the images it reads as precisely the right tone for a room furnished in linen, boucle, plaster and ceramic.
