100% solid Bayur wood, a Southeast Asian hardwood with a straight, even grain and a pale honey tone. Its stability keeps drawers running smoothly for years, and it is light for a hardwood.

Smooth natural finish, with a curved front, slim tapered legs and classic metal ring pulls.

Being solid wood rather than veneer, its edges will not chip or lift, and it can be refinished for decades to come.

Dust along the grain with a soft dry cloth and wipe spills promptly. Use mats and coasters, as a natural finish offers less protection than lacquer. Refresh with clear furniture wax once or twice a year, avoid silicone polishes, and keep it away from radiators, where drawer runners suffer first.

Tone and grain vary from piece to piece, and even between drawer fronts, which is solid wood behaving as it should.

Keep the space beneath clear so the piece floats. Place one table lamp off centre, group ceramics and foliage at the other end, and hang a mirror above. Warm neutrals and sage flatter the timber, while cool grey walls flatten it.
