Will it fit? In a living room, choose a size that sits under at least the front legs of your sofa and chairs, leaving a band of floor showing around the edge.

Machine woven in Turkey from a blend of 65% polyester and 35% polypropylene, with an 8mm pile. The blend of yarns gives the abstract pattern its high shine, while the intricate detailing keeps the overall effect soft and understated rather than showy.

Vacuum regularly on a low setting to lift dust from the pile. Treat spills straight away by blotting with a clean cloth, then spot clean with a little mild detergent and water. Avoid rubbing, which can disturb the pile.

Rotate the rug every few months so it wears evenly, and keep it out of strong direct sunlight to protect the colour. A little loose fibre in the first weeks is normal and will settle with vacuuming.

Ground the soft sheen with natural textures: a pale oak coffee table, a linen upholstered accent chair and textured cushions in oatmeal and stone for a calm, layered room.

Is the shine very reflective?

The sheen is woven into the yarns, so it reads as a soft glow that changes with the light rather than a mirror like finish.

Is it practical for everyday use?

Yes. The polyester and polypropylene blend is hard wearing and easy to spot clean, which makes it well suited to living rooms and bedrooms.

Will the rug shed?

A small amount of loose fibre is normal at first. Regular vacuuming on a low setting will clear it within the first few weeks.

Do I need a rug underlay?

On hard floors an underlay is a good idea. It stops the rug from slipping and adds a little extra cushioning underfoot.
