Will it fit? Allow 310cm along the main run and 155cm out from the wall for the chaise, plus around 90cm of walking space in front. Sitting on the sofa facing into the room, the chaise is on your right. At 310cm and 99kg, please measure doorways, hallway turns and stairwells on the way in.

A loose, tailored slipcover in an ochre linen-look weave (100% polyester), which holds its colour and resists creasing better than natural linen. The floor-length skirt conceals the base for a soft, graceful shape.

Cushions are filled with foam, fibre and feather for support, give and loft, on a plywood and pinewood frame.

Spot clean marks as they happen, and use a professional cleaner for the full cover. Please do not machine wash it at home, as shrinkage will affect the fit. Refitting is easiest while the cover is very slightly damp, and it dries to a crisper finish.

Vacuum regularly and plump the feather-filled cushions often. A slipcover sits softer than fixed upholstery and relaxes a little between refits, which is part of its easy charm. Keep out of strong, all-day sunlight.

Let the ochre lead against chalk, oatmeal or warm plaster walls, or deepen it with soft olive. Contrast the cushions in cream, olive and a single terracotta, and choose a rug large enough to sit under the front of both sections. Warm lighting keeps the ochre rich.
