Glossy dark bronze metal, sandy hessian coolie shade, generous gourd silhouette — the table lamp that brings the warm depth of polished metalwork into a room without the heaviness of a ceramic base.
The Mojave Table Lamp is built around a polished metal base in a rounded gourd silhouette, finished in a deep glossy tobacco-bronze tone that catches and reflects light across the curve of the body. The high-shine finish picks up the warm tones of any ambient lighting in the room and lets it pool into highlights along the shoulders of the lamp, giving the piece a sense of presence even when unlit. A conical hessian-style shade in soft sandy oat tops the lamp — its tapered coolie shape diffuses light downward and outward in a soft pool, casting the warm desert-evening glow that gives the Mojave its name.
What sets it apart
The detail that makes it different
The polished metal base is the Mojave's quiet signature — most table lamps in this category default to matte ceramic, plain resin or unfinished wood bases that exist purely to hold the shade up. The Mojave does something different: the metal body becomes a piece of sculpture in its own right, the deep glossy bronze tone catching light from the room around it and reflecting it back in soft warm highlights. The conical hessian shade is the considered counterpoint — a deliberately humble, textural natural fibre against the polished depth of the metal, the kind of material pairing that high-street lamps almost never get right.
Part of our wider table lamp collection — pair with natural-fibre baskets, leather accents and warm-toned ceramics for a layered, earth-toned interior scheme.
The Mojave fits a standard E27 screw bulb. We'd recommend a warm white LED equivalent (2700K) for the softest desert-warmth glow through the hessian shade. Bulb not included.
What's the finish on the metal base?
A polished glossy lacquer over an iron body, in a deep tobacco-bronze tone. The high-shine finish is more reflective than matte powder coat, picking up ambient light and giving the lamp visual depth even when unlit. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth to maintain the finish — avoid abrasive cleaners or polish.
Where does the Mojave work best?
At 48cm tall, the Mojave suits bedside tables, side tables, sideboards and writing desks. The warm amber-glass-and-natural-fibre material story sits especially well in bedrooms and snugs where the ambient quality of the light matters more than task lighting.
