The Wexley is built around a single decisive design move — a starburst pedestal base of crossing solid oak struts that meet at a central point and splay out toward the floor, replacing the four corner legs that limit where chairs can go. The result is a table that seats six comfortably along its two-metre length without anyone straddling a leg, and that can pull in extra chairs at the heads without rearranging the room. The top itself is a thick slab of solid white oak with the natural grain left visible — knots, figure, the long open lines that only appear in real timber — softened at the edges and corners so the silhouette stays inviting rather than severe.

Most pedestal tables either go fussy and turned, or flat and industrial — the Wexley does something rarer, which is to treat the base itself as the sculpture.
