The Alani brings something most round dining tables overlook — a sculptural underframe treated as the entire design move. Three flat solid oak panels arrange in a Y-formation beneath the round top, meeting at a central junction that reads as a single architectural object rather than a base supporting a top. The three-panel structure has the visual clarity of contemporary furniture — Vincent Van Duysen, Studio Ashby, the Belgian-modern world where geometry and craft meet — and at 110cm in diameter the table sits in the right scale for a four-seater that anchors a dining room without overwhelming a smaller kitchen.

The smoked oak finish is the second move that lifts the Alani above generic round tables — a soft cerused grey-brown that catches the natural grain of the oak and lifts it into the surface, rather than burying it under a heavy stain. The result is a finish that reads as both warm and modern at once, the kind of tonal palette that runs through contemporary high-end interiors and pairs comfortably with linen, stone, lime-washed walls, and natural fibre rugs. Construction is solid oak through the structural elements (45% solid oak), with oak-veneered MDF beneath the surface of the top — the right way to build a round table at this diameter, where pure solid timber would warp under temperature and humidity changes.
