A reclaimed pine sideboard with four cupboards and no two planks alike.
Genuinely salvaged South Pine, hand waxed, with classic panelled doors and antique style handles.
The timber has already lived a life, and that history is written into the grain. Serious storage with the character new furniture takes years to earn. See the full console tables and sideboards range.
The kind of piece a room is built around rather than fitted with.

The measurements, and the wall you need
Recycled South Pine, hand waxed. Arrives fully assembled, and it is a two person lift.
Allow at least 240cm of clear wall, so it has breathing space at either end.
Check the doors have room to swing fully open, which is the measurement people forget on a four-cupboard piece.
The height sits just above a standard kitchen worktop, which makes it a comfortable serving surface as well as a storage one. The depth holds dinner plates flat with room to spare.
Measure the route as well as the room. Doorways, stairwells and tight turns matter on a piece this wide. Tell us if anything looks close and we will help you work it out before you order.
The detail that makes it different
Genuinely reclaimed, which is rarer in this category than it sounds.
A great deal of what is sold as reclaimed is new timber distressed to look old, and it always shows, because manufactured wear repeats itself in a way genuine age never does. This is salvaged South Pine given a second life, so the character is earned rather than applied. It is also one of the few cases where the environmental argument and the aesthetic argument point in the same direction.
South Pine is a softwood with an open, expressive grain, which is exactly why it takes patination so well. Decades of previous use leave a depth of colour and knot structure no kiln process replicates. It marks more readily than oak, and on a piece defined by character that is a feature rather than a problem.
The hand-applied wax seal penetrates rather than coats. Lacquer seals a surface beneath a uniform film; wax sits in the wood, so the grain stays visible and the tonal variation across each plank is preserved. It also repairs at home — a scuff usually waxes out with a soft cloth, where damaged lacquer needs stripping and refinishing.
Classic panelled doors and antique style handles give it a silhouette that reads traditional without committing to a period, so it sits as comfortably in a contemporary kitchen diner as a farmhouse dining room.
Why you will love it
- Genuinely reclaimed South Pine, not new timber distressed to imitate age
- Hand waxed, so the grain stays visible and the surface stays tactile
- Four cupboards with adjustable shelving, configured to whatever you own
- A long run of storage that hides clutter behind panelled doors
- Warm amber tones that flatter almost every neutral palette
- A wax finish you can refresh at home rather than have professionally restored
- Arrives fully assembled, with nothing to build
- Entirely unique, with grain and knots found on no other piece
Four cupboards, configured your way
All four cupboards have adjustable interior shelving, so the sideboard adapts to what you own rather than dictating it. Set the shelves low and wide for dinnerware and serving platters, tall for glassware and decanters, or take one out entirely for table linens, board games or media equipment.
In a dining room it takes a full dinner service with room left for candles and the things that only appear at Christmas. In a living room it swallows media clutter, cables and paperwork. In a kitchen diner it becomes the overflow for everything the fitted cupboards cannot take, which is where our kitchen and dining range tends to end up.
How our stylists would use it
Let it anchor everything else. In a dining room, place it alongside the table rather than behind the head of it, so serving is easy. In a living room it works beneath a large window where the wall allows.
The single most effective thing you can do with a long sideboard. A matching pair of table lamps frames the piece, creates symmetry and gives you low warm light in the evening. Warm bulbs at 2400K to 2700K are essential, since cool light makes waxed pine look flat and grey.
Rather than spreading things evenly across the length. Lamp, then a cluster of ceramics and foliage at varying heights, then a stack of books with a small object on top. Leave clear space between the groups.
Warm amber pine wants warm neutrals. Soft white, oatmeal, clay, mushroom and putty. For depth, deep olive, sage or soft charcoal on the wall behind will make the amber glow. Avoid cool greys and stark white, which drain the warmth and push the pine towards orange.
A large mirror or a run of three framed pieces stops a long, low piece of furniture feeling bottom heavy against an empty wall.
Reclaimed pine is warm and matt. Aged brass, dark glazed stoneware, linen and a wool or jute rug underfoot all provide the contrast that stops a neutral room reading flat.
At a glance
Care and honest expectations
Dust along the grain weekly with a soft dry cloth, and wipe spills straight away before they sit on the wax.
Refresh with a clear furniture wax every six to twelve months. Avoid silicone polishes and all-purpose sprays, which build up on a waxed surface and dull it.
Use coasters and mats under anything hot or wet, as with any waxed timber.
Keep it clear of a radiator where you can. Prolonged dry heat is harder on solid wood than anything else in a normal home.
What to expect. Knots, grain variation and tonal shifts across the planks are by design. Your piece will differ visibly from the photographs. Small scuffs usually buff out with wax and a soft cloth, and the colour deepens gently with light and age.
If you want every plank the same colour and a piece identical to the image on screen, reclaimed timber is the wrong choice. If you want character that cannot be manufactured, it is the only one.
