Which size? As a rule, the planter should be about a third of the height of the plant it holds. The small suits lavender, herbs and bulbs. The medium, our most reordered size, suits hydrangeas, box balls and smaller faux trees. The large is made for olive and bay trees.

Built-in waterproof liner. The weave passes over it seamlessly, so you see only the basket, while the liner stops soil and water soaking through or staining. The liner is solid, so there are no drainage holes.

Woven handles on both sides make a full planter liftable. It arrives with the liner fitted and nothing to assemble, ready to plant.

How long it lasts outdoors depends on how exposed it is:

Raise it off wet ground with pot feet or a paver, avoid standing water, and brush the weave occasionally with a dry brush. In strong sun the tone softens and mellows over time. That is natural material behaving as it should, not a fault.

Work in pairs or threes. Two large planters with matching olive trees frame a front door. Where there is only room on one side, group all three sizes, with the tallest at the back.

Keep the planting restrained. One species per planter, finished with moss or bark over the soil, looks expensive. It suits real or faux planting, from hydrangeas to faux greenery.
