Will it fit? It's low and long, so it sits neatly at the end of a single or double bed with space either side. Allow room above for the domed lid to open, especially under a windowsill or radiator.

Handwoven natural cane, with an intricate weave that catches the light, over a solid wood frame that holds its shape whether full or empty.

The domed lid gives it the silhouette of a classic travelling chest. A latch keeps it closed, and metal handles make it easy to carry between rooms.

Cleaning. Dust the weave with a soft brush or a vacuum brush attachment on low. Never soak it. Use a barely damp cloth on marks and dry straight away.

Everyday use. Don't sit or stand on the domed lid. Line it for fine linens or knitwear so the weave can't catch.

What to expect. It's for interior use only, away from damp and radiators. Natural rattan varies in tone and mellows gently with light over the years.

At the foot of the bed, a throw folded over one end is all it needs. It's just as useful in a living room for cushions and toys, or by the door for scarves and bags.

Set it on a wool or jute rug against warm neutrals such as oatmeal, linen and clay. A pair in an alcove or on a landing looks wonderfully collected.
