Will it fit? The slim column and small square base leave room for books and glasses on a side table, while the 39cm shade needs around 35cm of clear surface depth. At 80cm it reaches comfortably over the arm of a reading chair.

The column and stepped base are finished in a warm, tobacco toned antique brass patina rather than a bright polished shine, in the spirit of a Georgian library lamp.

A swivel joint at the neck lets the white linen coolie shade tilt forward or back, directing a soft pool of light onto a book, a desk or away from your eye line.

Dust the brass with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding metal polish which can strip the antique finish. Brush the shade gently or use a lint roller.

For indoor use only. Always switch off and unplug before cleaning, changing the bulb or adjusting the head, and let the bulb cool first. Keep to the 40W maximum; a warm white LED around 2700K suits it best.
