The Marina brings a surface most ceramic-effect lamps never attempt — a repeating scalloped wave pattern carved across the entire teardrop body in tight overlapping rows, the arcs rising and breaking against each other the way ripples break across the surface of water. The motif draws on a decorative tradition that runs through Mediterranean tilework, Japanese textiles, and the seigaiha wave patterns of antique porcelain — but rendered here in chalky pale resin so the ridges catch shadow and the recesses catch a faintly warmer cream, the whole surface reading as carved by hand even from across the room.
