The Oakridge Wide Chest — the lower, broader companion to the Oakridge gentleman's chest, in the same weathered pine and rough-sawn finish — seven drawers across a generous 150cm dresser frame, with a top broad enough to anchor a mirror above and a styled vignette below.

The Oakridge Wide Chest takes the same architectural language as its tall sibling and reproportions it for a different room — a horizontal seven-drawer dresser format that delivers more storage in a lower silhouette, with the top broad and clear enough to function as a proper display surface. Three small drawers run across the top tier for jewellery, watches and small everyday essentials; four larger drawers below in two side-by-side columns for clothing, linen and folded storage. The same weathered pine finish runs throughout: a pale grey-taupe limewash over rough-sawn timber, the deliberate horizontal saw-cut texture left visible across every surface for tactile depth.

The horizontal proportions are what set this piece apart from the tall Oakridge chest — at 91cm tall, the top sits exactly where a dresser top should sit: low enough to function as a styling surface, high enough to use without bending. A round mirror or framed canvas above the chest makes the whole composition read as the dressing-table moment a bedroom needs; a pair of lamps, a vase, a stack of books and a small bowl complete the surface below. The architectural pilasters running floor-to-top at each corner echo the tall chest exactly, as do the antique brass round knobs and the stepped moulded plinth base — so the Wide Chest reads unmistakably as part of the same collection while serving a different role in the room.
