Cavendish Lacquer Trays, Set of Two

These are larger than most decorative trays. The large one covers much of a 120cm coffee table, so the small tray is usually the better choice for styling.

MDF with a high-gloss burgundy lacquer, a deep wine red rather than a bright one, polished enough to reflect the room.

The handles are cut through the raised rim, so there's no join to work loose. The 6cm rim on the large tray is deep enough to stop a glass sliding.

Wipe clean only. Use a damp cloth and dry it straight after. Never submerge them or put them in the dishwasher, as water reaching the MDF core will lift the finish.

Protect the lacquer. Avoid abrasives, and use coasters for drinks left standing. Like any gloss, they show fingerprints, which a dry microfibre cloth clears in seconds.

Food use. Crockery and glassware are fine. Please check with us before placing food directly on the surface. They're for indoor use only.

On a coffee table or console, the small tray gathers a candle, a small bowl and a couple of books. Keep the large one for carrying drinks when friends are over.

Let the burgundy be the single strong note against timber, linen and stone. It looks wonderful under a table lamp in the evening, and through autumn and winter without ever feeling seasonal.

How many trays do I get?

Can I put food directly on them?

Please check with us first, as a lacquered decorative finish isn't automatically food safe. Serving on crockery or glassware is fine.

Are they dishwasher safe?

No. Wipe clean only, and never submerge them.

Are they sturdy enough to carry a full load?

Yes. The cut-through handles give a proper grip and the deep rim keeps glasses steady.
