Is the lid actually marble?
Yes. It is a solid marble sphere, not a resin or plastic imitation. Because it is cut from natural stone, the veining varies from piece to piece and yours will not be identical to the photograph.
How big is it really?
Small. The bottle is 12cm tall and 5cm square, so the footprint is less than a mug. With the 24cm reeds in place, allow around 24cm of total height.
Are the reeds included?
Yes, fibre reeds are supplied in the box. Fibre draws fragrance up more evenly than natural rattan and is less prone to clogging over time.
What does it smell like?
A clean, delicate floral over creamy musk with a subtle sweetness. It is soft and unfussy rather than heavy or sweet, and it suits a small room without overwhelming it.
Will it scent a large room?
No, and it is not meant to. At 120ml this is sized for a cloakroom, bathroom, bedside or small hallway. For a big open room you would want a larger bottle, or two of these placed apart.
Is it safe in a bathroom?
Yes. There is no flame and no wax, which is exactly why a diffuser suits a bathroom. Stand it somewhere it cannot be knocked into a basin and keep the oil off any painted or polished surface.
How do I get the most from it?
Turn the reeds every week or so, dry end down, and fan them into a loose splay rather than a tight bundle. Keep it away from direct sun, radiators and heated towel rails, all of which drive the oil off faster.
Can I refill it?
The bottle is not designed as a refillable vessel and we do not supply a refill for it.
