The Hearthwood — a solid mango wood pendant carved into a country bell silhouette and finished with a sculpted wooden hoop in place of the usual generic metal mount — the kitchen pendant where the suspension is part of the design.
The Hearthwood brings something that almost no wooden pendant on the market bothers to do — a solid mango wood hoop carved as the suspension element itself, generously proportioned, smooth-turned, with the cloth-covered cord passing cleanly through it. Most pendant lights treat the hardware that connects shade to ceiling as something to hide; the Hearthwood treats it as the sculptural moment that defines the whole piece. The hoop quotes the bell pulls of country churches, the hooks of dairy parlours, the suspension rings of farmhouse implements — practical hardware reimagined as a feature.

The detail that makes it different
Below the hoop, the shade is built like a wooden bell — a rounded dome rising to a stepped collar, lathed and assembled from segments of solid mango wood, each segment showing different grain, knots and tonal variation across the surface. The horizontal joinery lines between segments are deliberately visible, signalling the genuine timber construction underneath rather than a single moulded shell. The natural finish lets the warm honey grain of mango wood read clearly, with no two pendants looking identical — small variations in colour and figuring across the wood mean every pendant carries its own character. Sized at 35cm across, it hangs comfortably as a single fixture above a breakfast bar or in a row of two or three above a kitchen island.
