Glazed ceramic in a dusty pale sage, somewhere between duck egg and French country green, with a chalky, lightly distressed matte glaze.

Three bands of raised cream bobbles circle the shoulder, a nod to antique French passementerie. The classic storage-jar shape narrows to a small, neat mouth.

It isn't watertight. For fresh stems, place a small water vessel inside. Dried and faux stems can go straight in.

Dust gently with a soft dry cloth or brush.

Fill it with a few stems of faux eucalyptus or blossom, or leave it empty to let the beading shine. Side light from a lamp brings out the texture beautifully.

It's lovely in French country, English cottage and coastal rooms, alongside linen, pale timber and cream ceramics.
