Will it fit? At 37cm tall and 26cm wide it has real presence on a hearth, console or kitchen worktop, and the generous 15cm mouth takes an armful of dried stems. At over six kilos, lift it with care using both hands.

Glazed earthenware in a classic twin handled amphora form, inspired by the Mediterranean vessels once used for olive oil, wine and grain. A band of pale cream sits at the rim, warm honey amber flows across the shoulder, and deep treacle brown pools and streaks down to the foot.

The glaze moves in the kiln, so the streaks fall differently on every piece. A slightly uneven rim and glimpses of terracotta at the lip and base add to its aged, country character.

Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe with a barely damp cloth if needed. Earthenware is naturally more porous than stoneware, so for fresh flowers we recommend a watertight vessel inside.

Each vase is unique, and the glaze pattern, rim and exposed clay will vary from the photograph. Lift from the body rather than the handles.

Fill it with dried wheat, foraged grasses or faux branches such as our faux magnolia leaf stem or faux eucalyptus berry stem, or leave it empty on a hearth as a sculptural piece. It looks beautiful beside timber, linen and rush seated chairs.

Will mine look exactly like the photograph?

No two are the same. The drip glaze flows differently in the kiln, so the streaks and colour bands vary on every piece.

Can I put water in it?

Earthenware is porous, so for fresh flowers we recommend placing a watertight vessel inside.

Is it heavy?

Yes, at 6.34kg it is substantial. Lift it with both hands from the body.
