The Wycliffe is the set you'll use every day and still be glad of at a dinner party. Four dinner plates in durable stoneware, gently organic in outline rather than perfectly circular, finished in a natural reactive glaze in a warm neutral tone. The reactive finish is what gives them their character: the glaze moves as it fires, so tone and depth vary subtly across each plate and from one to the next. At 27cm they're a proper dinner size, generous enough for a main course with room around it, and the substantial weight gives them the reassuring feel of something made rather than stamped out. Microwave and dishwasher safe, so they earn their place in daily use.

Handmade-looking plates usually come with handmade-looking rules about washing them. The Wycliffe gives you the reactive glaze and the softly irregular, hand-formed shape without the fragility — these are dishwasher and microwave safe, so the character doesn't cost you convenience. Being stoneware rather than porcelain, they're dense and chip-resistant, and the weight in the hand is noticeably better than a thin, light plate. The glaze is food safe and smooth, so sauces wipe away easily and nothing absorbs into the surface. How many are in the set?
Four dinner plates, supplied as a set.
What size are they?
Each plate measures 27cm across — a full dinner size, with enough room for a main course to be plated properly rather than crowded. They stack neatly for storage.
Are they dishwasher and microwave safe?
Yes to both. They're made for everyday use, so they go in the dishwasher and the microwave without special handling. As with any glazed stoneware, avoid sudden temperature changes — don't take a plate straight from the fridge into a hot oven or microwave.
Will each plate look the same?
No. A reactive glaze forms its own pattern as it fires, so tone, depth of colour and the way it settles around the rim vary from plate to plate, as does the exact outline of the organic shape. That variation is the character of the finish rather than a fault.
Are they food safe?
Yes. The glazed surface is food safe and smooth, so it wipes clean easily and won't absorb oils, colours or odours.
Can I add to the set later?
They're sold in sets of four, so a second set extends the table to eight. Bear in mind that the reactive glaze means a later set won't be an exact colour match — though with a finish like this, the slight difference reads as intentional rather than mismatched.
