Aldbury Black Olive Tree 210cm

Supplied in a plain black nursery pot, ready to lower into a planter or basket. Choose one slightly wider than the pot and at least as deep, so the rim disappears.

The trunk is slim and naturally textured, with colour variation from base to crown.

The branches grow in open, flat tiers with space between them, carrying small rounded, softly glossy leaves. They're wired, so each tier can be eased outward, lowered or angled to suit its corner.

No watering, feeding or seasonal care. On arrival, open the branches from the lowest tier upward and stagger the layers slightly for a natural look.

Dust the leaves occasionally and wipe the trunk with a barely damp cloth. Keep it out of prolonged direct sun to preserve the foliage colour.

Its narrow trunk and open tiers bring height without swallowing floor space. Set it in a hallway, stairwell or dark corner, beside a fireplace or against a panelled wall where its silhouette can be seen.

Finish it in a tall floor planter from our pots and vases collection and top it with bark or moss. It suits modern organic, Japandi and pared-back rooms.

Is the planter in the styled image included?

No. The tree comes in a black nursery pot, and the planter shown is sold separately.

Is this the same as a classic olive tree?

No. The black olive is a different tree, with small glossy leaves and tiered branches. For the silver-green Mediterranean look, see our faux olive trees.

Will it work in a dark room?

Yes. It needs no daylight, making it ideal for north-facing rooms and dark corners.

Will it look right straight out of the box?

Allow a few minutes to fan out the branches, which are compressed for transit.
