Sixty to seventy hours of soft floral and creamy musk, in a stone and glass vessel.
A large candle in a weighted stone and glass vessel, 17cm tall and 13cm across, in a clean floral scent with creamy musk and a subtle sweetness.
This is the quiet one. Where a spiced candle announces the season, this reads as fresh laundry and a well-kept room, which makes it the candle you can burn in February and in July without it feeling wrong. Browse all candles and diffusers.
Some scents belong to a season. A clean floral belongs to the whole year, which is why it is the one that runs out first.

The detail that makes it different
A clean scent in a heavy vessel, which is a harder combination to find than it sounds.
The vessel is stone and glass, not the thin pressed glass that most scented candles come in. That weight is why it sits properly on a surface, why it feels considered when you pick it up, and why it does not look like something to be tidied away when the wax runs out.
It is also genuinely large. At 17cm tall and 13cm in diameter this has real presence on a mantel or a coffee table. Most scented candles are around 8cm across and read as a small accessory. This one reads as an object.
60 to 70 hours of burn time, which at three hours an evening is somewhere between five and seven weeks of use. That is the figure worth comparing when you are weighing this against a cheaper candle, because a small jar at half the price often gives you a third of the hours.
And the scent does the thing that clean scents do well: it does not date the room. A spiced candle is autumn and a fruit candle is summer, but soft florals over creamy musk sit comfortably in any month, which is why it suits a guest room or a bedroom where you burn a candle year round rather than seasonally.
How it smells
Clean and softly floral, with a creamy warmth underneath and just enough sweetness to stop it feeling austere. It is closer to fresh linen than to a bouquet, and it is the kind of scent people notice without being able to name, which is usually the mark of a good one.
Delicate florals, light and clean rather than perfumed.
The floral softens and rounds out. This is the note the room holds.
Creamy musk with a subtle sweetness underneath. Warm, quiet, and what lingers longest.
Soft floral, creamy musk, and nothing that fights with the room.
The measurements
Stone and glass vessel, substantial enough to sit securely on a coffee table or a mantel.
Presented in a fitted box, so it can be given exactly as it arrives.
13cm across is wider than most candles. On a narrow mantel or a slim shelf, measure the depth before you order. This wants a surface with room around it rather than one it fills edge to edge.
Allow clearance above. Standard guidance is at least 30cm of clear space above any lit candle, so avoid a shelf with something low sitting directly over it.
The weight is a feature. A heavy vessel will not be knocked over easily, which matters more than it sounds on a coffee table in a house with children or animals.
Why you will love it
- 60 to 70 hours of burn time, roughly five to seven weeks of evenings
- A stone and glass vessel rather than thin pressed glass
- 17cm tall, 13cm across, a proper object rather than a small jar
- Soft floral and creamy musk, clean rather than sweet or heavy
- Works in any month, unlike a spiced or fruit scent
- Suits a bedroom or guest room, where a strong scent would be too much
- Looks right unlit, which is how a candle spends most of its life
- The vessel is worth keeping once the wax has gone
How our stylists would use it
A candle this size is a focal point, not a filler. Put it where it can be seen from the door, off to one side of a mirror rather than centred beneath it.
This is the scent for a room someone else sleeps in. Clean and unassuming, where a spiced or heavy fragrance in a small bedroom quickly becomes too much.
Three objects at three heights beats five at the same level. This is your tall element. Add a low bowl and something with greenery.
A tray under a large candle protects the surface from heat and wax, and pulls a coffee table arrangement into one group instead of several loose items.
A candle needs twenty minutes or so to fill a room. Lighting it as the doorbell goes achieves very little beyond the flame itself.
The same soft floral is available as a reed diffuser, so the room works lit and unlit and the scent carries through the house without two fragrances competing.
Once the wax has gone, a stone and glass vessel this size is a perfectly good holder for brushes, matches, kitchen utensils or a small plant.
At a glance
Burning it properly
The first burn matters most. Let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the vessel before you put it out. On a candle 13cm across that takes a few hours. Cut it short and the candle will tunnel down the middle for the rest of its life, and you will lose a good portion of those 60 to 70 hours.
Trim the wick to about 5mm before every single burn. An untrimmed wick smokes, sooties the glass and burns through the wax considerably faster.
Burn for no more than four hours at a time. Longer than that and the vessel gets hot, the flame grows and the wax burns off faster with no benefit to the scent.
Keep it out of a draught. A flickering flame is a candle burning unevenly. Away from open windows, doors and anything blowing air.
Stop when around 10mm of wax remains. Below that the vessel can overheat.
Never leave it burning unattended, and keep it away from children, animals, curtains and anything else that can catch. Stand it on a heat-resistant surface.
What to expect. Small variations in the wax surface and the odd flicker are normal in a hand-poured candle rather than a fault.
