Will it fit? At 67cm wide it sits well above a console, chest or mantel of around 90cm or more, leaving a little breathing space either side. Hang it with the base roughly 15 to 25cm above the surface below.

The frame is paulownia wood, a light yet stable timber, carved with a band of vertical fluting and a delicate beaded inner edge drawn from antique French and Gustavian mirrors.

A soft grey wash settles into the carving to highlight every ridge and bead and lets the grain show through, so each mirror carries its own subtle variation in tone. The rounded arch gives it a classic Louis Philippe silhouette.

Dust the frame with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Clean the glass with a soft cloth and a little glass cleaner sprayed onto the cloth, not the mirror, to protect the finish.

At 8.5kg, always hang using fixings suited to your wall type and the weight of the mirror. Hang portrait, with the arch uppermost.
