Verona Oval Print

A deliberately small piece. Smaller than a sheet of A4, it is made for leaning on a shelf, mantel or bedside, or hanging in a cluster. On its own, it suits a small space such as a cloakroom or alcove.

It shares the same footprint as our landscape framed print, turned upright, so the two make a natural pair.

Deep oval frame in aged timber, with stepped concentric mouldings that draw the eye inward. Quieter and more antique in character than gilt.

Italian village print in dark green, ochre, slate and white, with deeper tones than most small prints, so it holds its own in a group. For indoor use only.

Dust the stepped moulding with a soft dry brush. If needed, spray cleaner onto a cloth rather than the frame, and avoid anything wet or abrasive on the timber. Keep it out of direct sunlight and steamy rooms.

If leaning it on a polished shelf, a felt pad or museum putty at the base stops it sliding.

Place it off centre in a cluster of wall art, as a single oval breaks up a wall of rectangles beautifully. Or lean it on a console with something overlapping one corner.

Pair the aged timber with warm textures, such as a basket or a stoneware vessel, rather than metal.
