Will it fit? Allow at least 20cm of clear wall at each end and 90cm of floor in front for the drawers. At 85cm high, it also sits above most sofa backs, so it can float behind seating in an open plan room.

Reclaimed pine, sustainably sourced, with the knots, nail holes and saw scores of timber given a second life. No two Ashtons are the same.

Hand-carved spindle legs, turned rather than machined flat, are what set it apart. The distressed weathered finish is applied by hand, so tone and depth vary across every piece.

Cleaning. Dust with a dry soft cloth and wipe spills straight away. Avoid silicone polishes, all-purpose sprays and abrasives.

Placement. Keep it out of prolonged direct sun and away from radiators.

What to expect. Reclaimed pine moves gently with the seasons, and the finish keeps developing. Yours won't look identical to the photographs. It will have its own character.

Style it in three zones: a table lamp at one end, a low grouping in the middle and space at the other. Hang a large mirror 20cm to 25cm above the top.

Keep the lower shelf light, with a couple of woven baskets, so the spindle legs stay on show. It loves a warm neutral wall and a runner underfoot.

Will it fit through my front door?

It passes through a standard doorway on its side. Tight corners and stairwells are the usual pinch points, so contact us if anything looks close.
