Salvaged pine, handmade, with warm amber tones, knots and the marks of a previous life. A light natural finish lets that character show, so no two are the same.

Six turned legs, with a centre pair supporting the long span, give the front a graceful rhythm. A full-length lower shelf adds storage and balance.

Cleaning. Dust along the grain with a soft dry cloth and wipe spills straight away. Wax once or twice a year, and avoid silicone polishes.

Everyday use. Use coasters and mats under anything hot or wet. Keep it away from radiators and prolonged direct sun.

What to expect. Pine is a softwood, so it marks more readily than oak, but knocks blend into its existing character. Yours won't match the photograph exactly.

Frame it with a pair of table lamps and hang a large mirror above. Group ceramics and foliage on top, leaving space between.

Keep the lower shelf light, with two baskets spaced apart, so the turned legs stay on show. Warm neutrals or deep olive behind it make the grain glow.
