Dune Freeform Bowl

Oval rather than round, so it takes up less surface than it looks. Light and easy to move until it finds its spot.

Ceramic with a hand-shaped freeform rim, pushed into peaks and dips while the clay was soft, on a small footed base.

Glossy reactive glaze that settles into horizontal bands of sand, grey and cream during firing, with a rust line where the clay shows through at the rim. No two are alike.

Not food safe. This is a decorative bowl, not serveware.

Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth and dry straight away. Do not submerge it or put it in a dishwasher, and avoid anything abrasive on the glaze. Lift it from underneath rather than by the rim, and use a mat on polished surfaces.

Leave it empty as a sculptural object, or use it for keys on a hallway console or rings on a bedside. Turn the highest peak towards the room.

Pair it with a dark glazed vessel for contrast, and a lamp nearby to catch the banding. It suits coastal and Japandi interiors.
