Fenland Framed Landscape Print

A deliberately small piece. Smaller than a sheet of A4, it is made for leaning on a shelf, mantel or bedside, or hanging in a cluster of three or five. On its own, it suits a small space such as a cloakroom or narrow alcove.

Antiqued gold frame with a twisted rope moulding and a stepped profile, softly worn at the high points so it looks found rather than new.

Pastoral print of marshland, water and trees under a pale sky, in muted greens, ochres and soft neutrals with loose, painterly brushwork. For indoor use only.

Dust the rope moulding with a soft dry brush. If needed, spray cleaner onto a cloth rather than the frame, and use nothing abrasive on the gilt. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from steamy rooms such as bathrooms.

If leaning it on a polished shelf, a felt pad or museum putty at the base stops it sliding.

Lean it on a console or mantel with a small vessel overlapping one corner. For a cluster, combine it with other wall art at varying sizes, 5cm to 8cm apart.

Repeat the gold once nearby, perhaps with a brass lamp base, and hang it on a plain wall where people pause.
