Abingdon Elm Dining Table

Will it fit? Allow around 60cm of table edge per person, and roughly 75cm of clear floor behind each chair. That means a room of about 350 x 250cm. It arrives in one assembled piece, so check doorways and turns before ordering.

Chairs. At 76cm it is standard dining height, so almost any dining chair will work.

Solid elm has a looser, more expressive grain than oak and a warmer tone, with knots and movement that no two tables share. It is finished with an open, softly limed look.

Straight legs with a stretcher base. Four squared posts are set in from the corners, so chairs pull in cleanly along the sides. The stretcher keeps a span this long rigid under a full load.

It arrives fully assembled, ready to unwrap and position.

Dust along the grain with a soft dry cloth and wipe spills promptly. Use mats and coasters under anything hot or wet, avoid silicone polishes and all-purpose sprays, and keep the table away from radiators and strong direct sun.

Elm is a natural material, so grain and tone vary from table to table, and small marks from daily use settle into its character.

Pair it with linen or woven dining chairs, and hang two smaller pendants 75cm to 85cm above the top. Keep the centre low with a runner, dark glazed stoneware and foliage.
